This catalog provides information about datasets and how to access them but <strong>does not <\/strong>function as a repository to store data. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The UMB Data Catalog is designed to:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Increase the visibility of research data generated by UMB researchers\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration by identifying common research interests\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Support the process of data re-use and data sharing\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Share metadata about datasets that cannot be shared publicly due to ownership or privacy concerns\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s easy to submit your dataset information to the UMB Data Catalog using the new <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.hshsl.umaryland.edu\/dc\/new.cfm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Include Your Dataset<\/a> form. The form asks for author and affiliation information, a description of the data, associated publication(s) (if applicable), and instructions for accessing the data. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also provide more details about your dataset through optional metadata fields \u2013 for example, keywords. data types, study type, dates of data collection, dataset formats, and grant support. The catalog is searchable and browsable and including more information about your dataset&nbsp;can increase its discoverability and reusability. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We also have a new <a href=\"https:\/\/guides.hshsl.umaryland.edu\/datacatalog\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UMB Data Catalog LibGuide<\/a> which provides more information about the catalog and what to know to submit your data!
