Current Role at UMB

Nicole Shelawala (she/they) specializes in scholarly communications, evidence synthesis, research impact, and medical research support. She serves as the School of Medicine liaison librarian at UMB, where she collaborates with clinicians, researchers, trainees, and students to support and consult on systematic and scoping reviews, publishing strategies, and evidence-based practice. Her research interests include evidence synthesis methodologies, the open research/open science landscape, the responsible use of AI in research, and disability equity and justice in library spaces.
