HSHSL iSpace Use and Cost Policy
Reservation / Use
- The highest priority is given to UMB faculty, staff, and students working on health sciences related projects
- The Innovation Space facility is available for EDUCATIONAL purposes only.
- NO COMMERCIAL OR BUSINESS-RELATED USE is allowed.
- Any print job estimated to last more than 5 hours is up to the discretion of Innovation Space staff.
- Any print job estimated to last 20 hours or more should be printed elsewhere. See our list of 3rd party printing services.

- On the first floor of the HS/HSL next to the elevators.
Equipment
Cost
- 3D printing: $3 for up to an hour of 3D printing and $1 per each additional hour.
Payment Methods
- Credit Card or Chartstring - Pick up at the Information Services Desk (Desk hours).
How Do I Use the 3D Printers?
What Can You Print with the 3D Printer?
- .STL model files that have no mesh errors.
- Any print job estimated to last more than 5 hours is up to the discretion of Innovation Space staff.
- Any print job estimated to last 20 hours or more should be printed elsewhere. See our list of 3rd party printing services
What CANNOT Be Printed
- Items prohibited by local, state, or federal law
- Items that are unsafe, harmful, dangerous, or that pose an immediate threat to the well-being of others
- Items that are obscene or otherwise inappropriate
- Items that are in violation of another's intellectual property rights. For example, you cannot reproduce material subject to copyright, patent, or trademark protection.
Safety Precautions
- Do not touch the extruder or the platform during or after the printing. You may burn yourself.
- All library users are responsible for their own safety while using the 3D printer and other equipment.
- HS/HSL is not responsible for any injury a user inflicts on himself or herself during the use of the equipment.
