Sequential Art: Stories by Students from The Mother Mary Lange Catholic School
October 30, 2024 - January 17, 2025
The Mother Mary Lange Catholic School collaborated with The Health Sciences and Human Services Library to create an exhibit that examines mental health topics, renders students’ inner and outer selves, and illustrates stories set on Halloween.
Mental Health
Depression. Anxiety. Trauma. These are mental health issues that students from Mother Mary Lange Catholic School addressed through the medium of sequential art (otherwise known as comics). Along with the sequential art, students designed posters that promote mental health awareness.
Inner and Outer Self
How does the face we offer to the world differ from our inner self? Students from MML answered this question by creating self-portraits split down the middle, one half revealing the thoughts and feelings that they normally keep concealed.
Halloween
Students from MML created comics that all take place on Halloween. Some stories are chilling, some cute, others funny. Each artist brings a different perspective to the last night of October.
