Tony Sweet

June 3 – August 31

An exhibit featuring the works of renowned Baltimore photographer, Tony Sweet, opened June 3 in the First Floor Reading Room Gallery of the Health Sciences and Human Services Library. Sweet’s nature photography work has been published on greeting cards, calendars, post cards, posters, annual reports, catalogs, and electronic mediums. He is represented by agents in New York City, Japan, and the United Kingdom.

Sweet spent 20 years as a professional jazz artist before changing careers and shifting his creative focus towards nature photography. He feels the “improvisational, spontaneous and abstract nature of jazz are also integral elements of nature photography.”

Library Executive Director, Frieda Weise, a photographer herself, is very excited about the exhibit. “I met Tony through my camera club and was really impressed by the freshness, abstract nature, and beauty of his photography – it’s breathtaking!”

Other examples of Tony Sweet’s work can be found at his web site http://www.tonysweetphotography.com.
