T. Sue Gladhill Boardroom Request Form

Use of the T. Sue Gladhill Boardroom is reserved for special events with priority use given to the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) Office of the President. All events must be requested and/or sponsored by leadership in one of the following categories:

  • UMB President, Provost and/or external groups referred by UMB Office of the President
  • UMB Deans or Vice Presidents
  • University System of Maryland (USM) Chancellor and/or Regents
  • University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) Leadership
  • Health Sciences and Human Services Library (HSHSL)

The Gladhill Boardroom does not support virtual or hybrid events or accommodate the use of any virtual meeting platform including Zoom or Webex.

Boardroom Hours:
Monday - Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Location: Room 505, Fifth Floor


Room Capacities and Table Dimensions:

  • Boardroom: Large conference table, seats 20 guests
  • Conference Style 1: Rectangular tables (36"x 72") arranged in a U-shaped collaborative setting, seats 18-20 guests
  • Conference Style 2: Rectangular tables (36"x 72") arranged in a retreat/collaborative setting, seats 36 guests
  • Seated Dinner: Round banquet tables (60"), seats 56 guests
  • Reception: Center oval table (72"x90") and rectangular tables (36"x 72") arranged with ample standing room, up to 100 guests
  • Panel: Two or three audience-facing tables (with chairs) and rows of audience seating, seats 60 guests
  • Theatre: Rows of audience seating, seats up to 60 guests

* All tables used for food and beverage require linens. The HSHSL does not provide linens.


Catering and Deliveries: Catering and other event-related deliveries must be scheduled after 8 a.m. All deliveries must be directed to the HSHSL loading dock at 600 W. Pratt Street, Baltimore, MD to avoid parking issues at the front entrance. The event host must be present to accept all deliveries. HSHSL employees cannot accept deliveries for event hosts.


Video/Filming and Photography: Video, filming and photography during an event is limited to the Gladhill boardroom. Video, filming, and photography outside of the Gladhill boardroom require additional approval. Please contact hshslevents@hshsl.umaryland.edu with questions about filming and photography.


Accommodations for guests with disabilities

Lactation room available on the 3rd floor of the HSHSL.

Technical Support:

The Gladhill Board Room is equipped with a computer, two large displays, and both handheld and lavalier microphones. No technical support is provided. Please bring any presentation materials on a USB flash drive or be prepared to connect to the cloud to access resources when you arrive.
