The Historical Collections Department serves as an archival repository for the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Historical Collections documents the history and accomplishments of the graduate, dental, medical, nursing, pharmacy, and social work schools. The collection includes university publications, manuscript collections, and selected primary source documents dating back to the University's nineteenth century origins.
Historical Collections also includes the Library's rare book collection. Individual historical collections of chiefly pre-1945 imprints are included, featuring significant works in the health sciences and social fields. The rare book holdings can be found by searching the Library's Catalog.
