ERIC Database Faces Major Setbacks Amid Federal Funding Cuts

ERIC (Education Resources Information Center), an essential indexing database for education and the social sciences, will experience a significant reduction in content and curation beginning April 24, 2025, due to federal budget cuts.

ERIC’s collection dates back to the 1960’s and has over 2 million documents, including peer-reviewed journals, books, federal, state and local government reports, key documents from think tanks and state departments of education, dissertations as well as gray literature.

The ERIC database has been backed up by the Data Rescue Project.
