Research-Focused Event To Be Held in Baltimore, Maryland on Monday, March 31, 2014.

The Health Sciences and Human Services Library at the University of Maryland, Baltimore and Elsevier invite you to attend, Research Impact: A Discussion from Institutional, Economic, and Researcher Perspectives, an event designed to bring together critical stakeholders for a diverse and insightful discussion about the impact of research. The event will be held at the University of Maryland in Baltimore on Monday, March 31st.

The event will feature representatives from research institutions, funding agencies, economic development organizations and Elsevier; all coming together to examine the evolving expectations, available solutions, measurements and best practices associated with the optimization of research impact. Attendees will leave armed with valuable information to engage their respective organizational stakeholders to initiate and continue long-term research management efforts.

Upcoming Workshops at the HS/HSL

The HS/HSL offers free workshops throughout the semester to all UMB Faculty, Students, and Staff, and UMMC staff.  Upcoming workshops include:

PubMed where you can learn more about the PubMed database including using the MeSH database and creating a personal account. Google: Beyond Searching will highlight features of Google including Google Drive where you can share files and Google Scholar.

If you experience issues with RefWorks during this maintenance time it is recommended you closed your browser session and return to RefWorks at a later time. Grant Proposal Writing added to Spring Workshop Schedule

Grant Proposal Writing has been added to the Spring 2014 HS/HSL workshop. This workshop presents an introduction and overview of the grant and funding processes. Each component of the grant writing process will be addressed: documenting the need; identifying the target population; writing measurable objectives; developing a work plan, an evaluation plan and dissemination plan.
