Research-Focused Event To Be Held in Baltimore, Maryland on Monday, March 31, 2014.
The Health Sciences and Human Services Library at the University of Maryland, Baltimore and Elsevier invite you to attend, Research Impact: A Discussion from Institutional, Economic, and Researcher Perspectives, an event designed to bring together critical stakeholders for a diverse and insightful discussion about the impact of research. The event will be held at the University of Maryland in Baltimore on Monday, March 31st.
The event will feature representatives from research institutions, funding agencies, economic development organizations and Elsevier; all coming together to examine the evolving expectations, available solutions, measurements and best practices associated with the optimization of research impact. Attendees will leave armed with valuable information to engage their respective organizational stakeholders to initiate and continue long-term research management efforts.

The HS/HSL and UMB will be closing at 9:00 pm on Wednesday 2/12/14 due to inclement weather.
RefWorks System Maintenance and Downtown 2/15
On February 15th, RefWorks will be making improvements to its internal systems. During this time you may experience sporadic availability, including short periods of downtime. If you experience issues with RefWorks during this maintenance time it is recommended you closed your browser session and return to RefWorks at a later time. Maintenance will begin at 10:00pm 2/15/14.
Grant Proposal Writing added to Spring Workshop Schedule
Grant Proposal Writing has been added to the Spring 2014 HS/HSL workshop. This workshop presents an introduction and overview of the grant and funding processes. Each component of the grant writing process will be addressed: documenting the need; identifying the target population; writing measurable objectives; developing a work plan, an evaluation plan and dissemination plan.
