The Health Sciences and Human Services Library provides resources and services to support your research and help you find information efficiently and effectively.   Visit us at the HS/HSL table at the Graduate Research Conference on Thursday, April 11 at the SMC Campus Center.

  • Consultations
    Librarians are available to meet by appointment to assist with information and literature searching.
  • Tools for Research
    The Library provides free access to 100+ databases and over 4,700 journal titles. For articles or books not available at the Library, students can get a free copy via our Interlibrary Loan service (ILL).
  • Workshops
    The library offers workshops throughout the year on topics such as searching PubMed and Embase, journal impact factor, and more.
  • Information Management
    Librarians can help you use RefWorks, a citation management tool.
  • IRB Consent Forms
    Librarians are available to review consent forms to ensure that they are at an appropriate reading level for study participants before your IRB Protocol is submitted.
  • Required Database Searching for IACUC Protocols
    The Library provides experienced research librarians to assist you in performing the literature search required as part of every IACUC protocol.
  • Presentation Practice Studio
    Practice, record, and develop presentations and your public speaking skills in our soundproof studio.
  • Current Awareness
    Librarians can meet with you to set up auto alerts in databases to maintain current awareness in areas of scholarly interest.
  • Digital Archive
    Add your poster, paper, or presentation to the UM Digital Archive, where it will be preserved digitally and increase the audience for your research.

IT is working to resolve the issue.  You can still use the One Search box in the upper-right corner of our web page to search over 40 databases for journal articles.
