The Journal of the American Medical Association has recently launched within a new server. Unfortunately with this move, there may be issues with accessing full text articles. JAMA is currently at work trying to resolve these issues. If you try to access an article within JAMA, that the library should have access to, but you are unable to get to, please contact the Reference Department at 410-706-7996 or hshsl@umaryland.edu.

The Grant Proposal Writing Workshop offered as part of the HS/HSL’s Summer Worskshop schedule has had a date change from 7/11/12 to 7/25/12. The workshop will still take place from 1-4pm. For registration for this and other workshops, please click here.

Interlibrary Loan and documents delivery services will be unavailable on Thursday, May 31, 2012 due to maintenance.

The HS/HSL will be offering free workshops during the summer semester to all UMB faculty, staff and students; and UMMC staff. Workshops include RefWorks, Medical Apps for Mobile Technology, and Grant Proposal Writing. For full course descriptions and registration click here.

 Academic publisher Versita has announced the launch of a new programme of Open Access journals. 100 Emerging Science Journals are being launched in 2012. The programme will focus on young and rapidly developing fields of science, which have not yet been covered by a designated journal. The emerging topics have been identified in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Medicine, Physics and Mathematics.

Journals titles from Nature Publishing Group are now available from the HS/HSL Journals list.

There will be scheduled maintenance this weekend that will affect RefWorks services for a few hours on Sunday, May 6th. RefWorks services including RefMobile and Write-N-Cite will be unavailable from 12:00 am to 5:00 am. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Nature Journal titles are currently unavailable via the HS/HSL’s journals page. This is issue is being worked on and should be resolved shortly. Nature titles are still available via database searching. Just click on Find It if searching in a database to get access to the journal article. You can also access journals via the Library’s Catalog. To access the journal you would also click on Find It once you have found the journal title you are looking for.  Please contact the Reference Desk at 410-706-7996 if you need further assistance.
